General Description: This is one of those rare quintas which breathe romance! With a two storey stone-built renovation house which is a good state, from which one looks over green grassy fields towards the tree-lined stream which borders the property and at the same time one has a beautiful view of the Serra da Estrela mountains some kilometres away.
This quinta has real potential! It is reachable from the N17 main road down a 1km track which is very convenient but also a distance which ensures total quiet from traffic noise. From the other end of the property is another access road, coming in from the direction of Seia, which is a lively and interesting city, offering one all the modern amenities one could wish for.
In the surrounding area there is much to see or do and being so close to Portugals famous skiing slopes, this area is one where accommodation is always in short supply, both winter and summer, as Portuguese people from the cities like to come inland to visit relatives and enjoy ebing active and close to nature..
The land covers an area of 15.000m2 mostly flattish and towards the front of the house which lies a little higher on a gentle slope. There is abundant water provided by a well near the house but the whole property benefits from land that never dries out like a lot of Portugal does. Proof is the photos here which show green grass and were taken only last week (mid July 2010) when everywhere else is yellow! In the stream there is also a small weir which could be built up higher and form a pool for swimmng in.
The house could be enlarged both backwards and sidewards. Being just outside of the borders of the National Park affords better building rights. Renovations cost anything from 20.000€ depending on the level of luxury and extending one requires.
